Kid Climbs El Capitan to Raise Money for NYC

An 11-year-old East Bay boy has gone to great heights to help others.
Scott Cory from Brentwood climbed El Capitan in Yosemite National Park Tuesday, raising money for the families of New York City firefighters and police officers who died at the World Trade Center.

"We let Scott pick what he wanted to do on this," said Jim Cory, Scott's father. "He thought that he could get $100,000 raised."

Scott has been climbing for four years, and had climbed El Capitan shortly before the terrorist attacks. That ascent took him three days. But this time, he and his two partners went up in one day.
